Oh it’s March! February was a blur of exhaustion, weekends
with no Coach Husband & some of the craziest weather I’ve ever experienced
in my twenty-four years as a Texas resident.
We dropped our nine-month old puppy Duke McLane off at dog boot camp in
the month of February {full post about his incredible growth to come when he
returns home this month}, Coach was gone two of the four weekends this month
for conferences, this past week it actually SNOWED in Texas and with the cold
temperatures and lack of sunshine my 90 mph self hit a wall of exhaustion I
have yet to shake off.
This morning Coach woke up sick and
while we hate to miss out on fellowship at church it is a small blessing to be
home and restful this rainy Sunday morning.
Before I look ahead to what needs to be accomplished in March let’s
re-cap February.
February Re-Cap
You would think this is pretty straight forward but I struggled
with how/what this should look like.
It’s more of a prayer/devotional/gratitude journal but it has been a
sweet time of reflection in the evenings to list the top four things I was
grateful for that day. It has ranged
from cleaning supplies to specific friends to time alone to recharge. The journal itself has been a great tool to
keep me having a joyful spirit.
This my friends is a funny story.
When Coach & I married my mom brought a green plastic piggy bank
from my hometown bank where she works to me.
We have been filling that pig with coins ever since and it had finally
gotten to full to fit another penny. The
first Saturday of February I took the piggy bank to the our bank to cash in and
put back in our savings account. The
plug refused to come out of the pig. It
took three tellers, one bank manager and myself to finally realize it wasn’t
going to happen. By this time I was
embarrassed and more than a little frustrated so...I broke the plug with a pair
of pliers and cashed in my coins. My
hometown bank president, who was a deacon at my childhood church {and who
disciplined me on day in Sunday School that I will never forget} is currently
searching the storage building of the bank to attempt and find me a new plug.
This is by far my favorite goal of the month! I was inspired by a sweet co-worker who
creates an album for each year of her daughter’s life on Shutterfly. The books y’all are crazy, phenomenal! I decided to attempt the book in small chunks
throughout the year instead of try to do everything at once! I am so excited to see the end product in
December 2015 of everything Coach & I experienced together.
March Goals
decorate mantle for spring/Easter
enjoy a mini-vacation with Coach over Spring Break
finish mortgage application
try out 5 freezer meals
make/try my own laundry detergent
Here’s to March & a time of
awakening! As the weather starts to
change and nature begins to turn out in her full splendor I cannot help but
think of Song of Solomon 2:11
“For behold winter is past; the rain is over and gone.”
