The first Sunday of May & we engaged fully in
restfulness. Isn’t God good to declare
the Sabbath a day of rest? I’m reminded
of Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God.” Our world is in love with being busy and at
times I feel guilty for simply being still.
What a blessing for Abba Father to take care of us so sweetly by giving
us a pass to rest.
Coach & I made the decision this week to
disconnect our satellite and use Netfix exclusively. We found ourselves mindlessly watching
television {that on many occasions was not edifying} instead of engaging with
each other or completing needed tasks.
Finally last Monday Coach pulled the plug and called to disconnect our
service. Not only are we saving money but we are also rediscovering things we
love to do as well!
One of my rediscoveries was cross-stitch. I began
my cross-stitch project I mentioned in my May goals yesterday. The process helps me unwind and is so
soothing!

After a day of errands on Saturday Coach & I
took the dogs out for yogurt at our favorite yogurt shop. The pups loved not only the vanilla yogurt
but all the attention from people other than their humnas. It amazes me how quickly Dixie May can win
over someone leery of German Shepherds.
Duke is a tad bit more reserved & completely content to let Dixie
receive the majority of the attention but he is not one to pass up the offer of
a treat. We celebrated Duke’s 1st
birthday today. The last 12 months has
been filled with chewed fence posts, gaping holes in the backyard, big cuddles,
lots of licks and a new outlook on what patience really means. He loves chew toys, any type of food,
cuddling, obedience training & doggie daycare. Coach & I took our
one-year old out to pick a new chew toy and some one-on-one loving.

The last six months God has been preparing our
hearts for some life-changes. We’re
continuing to pray separately and together for Him to reveal His plan. Through the process our marriage has been
strengthened. It has been a sweet season in our marriage.
